Reconstitution and storage

Handling lyophilized peptides so the material in the vial still matches the certificate.

Before opening

Let the sealed vial equilibrate to room temperature. Opening a cold vial draws in moist air, and water is the main enemy of a lyophilized powder.

Adding solvent

Run the solvent slowly down the inside wall of the vial rather than directly onto the cake. Swirl gently until dissolved; vigorous shaking can degrade longer sequences.

After reconstitution

Keep the solution refrigerated, protected from light, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Aliquot if the protocol requires multiple withdrawals.
